Ikara
Excellent modern Greek with a strong sense of place.
Prepare to be whisked off to an island in the Aegean Sea (no passport necessary). Inspired by the Greek island Ikaria – one of the world’s “Blue Zones”, where locals live remarkably long and healthy lives – Ikara restaurant presents a contemporary take on traditional Greek cuisine. Here, a menu guided by seasonality celebrates the slower pace of Mediterranean eating. Produce, olive oil, herbs and specialty ingredients are sourced from Greece to join ocean-fresh seafood and the very best local meats in flavourful dishes. Think expertly pickled octopus, golden saganaki, the best moussaka of your life, excellent grilled meats, and enough Omega-3s to make you believe that you, too, could live to 100. Ingredients are all treated with confidence and restraint, and it’s not surprising to discover that Michelin-starred chefs consult on the menu.
Don't leave without trying:
Plenty of small plates to share, then move on to the trahana arnaki: lamb shank on trahana pasta with porcini stock and graviera.
