Thunder Gun Steakhouse
An almost 60-year heritage that’s evident in every visit.
In a time when everything feels like it’s rapidly changing, it’s nice to know that some things stay the same – like Thunder Gun Steakhouse. Since 1968, this Blackheath favourite has been doing what it does best: serving hearty, no-nonsense steakhouse fare with old-school hospitality and just a dash of Western charm. The locally sourced and marinated steaks, ribs and burgers are its main drawcards, of course, though you’ll also find Quick Draw starters, Outlaw salads, and chicken and fish on the menu. Meanwhile, generations of loyal patrons have been going “down to the Gun” for its nostalgic weekend carvery. Beyond the restaurant proper, the popular Majuba Pub offers relaxed pub lunches (think steak, egg and chips) and snack baskets. In short, this local institution doesn’t chase trends. It simply delivers quality food in generous portions with warm, seasoned service – the kind of dining experience that never goes out of style.
Don't leave without trying:
The spareribs or a juicy T-bone, with classic sides like spinach and butternut.
