Set in a charming urban winery in the heart of Cape Town, Bouchon Bistro and wine bar is the brainchild of Christophe Durand, winemaker at Dorrance Wines, and chef Faisal Khakoo of La Boheme Bistro. Here, they’ve created a sophisticated yet relaxed space that’s perfect for a date night, after-work drinks or a special celebration. The expertly curated wine list showcases only South African wines, and there’s a menu of flavourful, unfussy tapas that perfectly complement every sip. The menu offers a choice of three tapas for a set price, so take your pick from the likes of Peruvian chicken tacos with aji verde sauce, salsa and sour cream; miso aubergine with sweetcorn emulsion; tuna tataki with glass noodles, togarashi emulsion and crispy onions, or baked Camembert with honey-glazed bacon, caramelised onions and ciabatta, among many more. There are also two private dining rooms that you can book for functions. The service is on point, and they’re open on Mondays when most other restaurants are closed.

Don't leave without trying:
The buttery prawns and the mushroom gnocchi.
