Brasserie de Paris

Ensconced in leafy Waterkloof Ridge, Brasserie de Paris brings a touch of French elegance to Pretoria. It’s a classic brasserie experience, with intimate dining rooms, white tablecloths and all the usual delicious suspects – duck liver parfait, chateaubriand, steak au poivre and cassoulet are just some of the dishes on offer. This is confident cooking: precise, perfectly balanced and so beautifully presented, it’s hard not to whip out your camera at every course. French cuisine would be nothing without a wine list that punches at the same weight and Brasserie de Paris has just that, meticulously curated by an in-house sommelier. Be sure to check its website or social media for upcoming dinner events and specials. At the time of writing, the three-course Dinner Date on Tuesdays and Wednesdays provided a perfect excuse for a little midweek romance.

Don't leave without trying:
The honey-and-soy pork belly (on the set menu), served with beurre noisette and apple purée, charred baby onion, apple, baby bok choy, crackling, wholegrain mustard and carrot jus. Sublime.
