Formerly known as Chippies, this small takeaway in Rondebosch will satisfy your craving for a simple prego roll, and then some. The original prego sauce captures the taste of Portuguese street food and is always bursting with flavour. Available in beef or chicken, and with optional sides including hand-cut, double-fried chips, Iberian coleslaw (red and white cabbage tossed with vegan aïoli, olive oil and lemon juice) and extra Portuguese rolls, the prego rolls are legendary for good reason. Devoted regulars also highly recommend the peri-peri chicken (a quarter, half or whole) and the chicken espetada. They also sell bottles of their sauces so you can take a little extra flavour home with you.
