You’d be forgiven if you had to look twice before spotting Leo’s – it’s a tiny hole-in-the-wall on Cape Town’s Bree Street – by day it’s Max Bagels and from 5pm it transforms into a cool wine bar for those in the know. They pour low-intervention, interesting wines from smaller, specialised producers and there’s always a good selection of natural wines, too. A small selection of snacks is available, and they also host food pop-ups – keep an eye on their social media to see what’s coming up. There’s limited seating inside, and a few pavement tables and chairs, but things move quickly so hang around until a spot opens up. They also sell wine and other merchandise online.
