Nanaga Farm Stall
A can’t-miss pitstop at the convergence of the N2, R72 and N10.
An Eastern Cape institution since 1969, Nanaga Farm Stall is far more than your average road-trip pit stop. What began as one woman selling cabbages from the boot of her car has burgeoned into a can’t-miss stop that offers – according to its legions of fans – South Africa’s best pies, perfectly charred roosterkoek and pineapple juice so refreshing, you’re set for the rest of your drive. If you’re not restricted by a tight ETA, take a seat in the rustic café for a generously portioned breakfast or lunch inspired by local, seasonal ingredients. No time? Stop anyway for a pie and to stock up on home-made meals to go, biltong, nuts, preserves and sweet treats.
Don't leave without trying:
The pepper steak pie. According to locals, if you know, you know.
