The motto for this beloved little eatery is “no drama, just shawarma” and you can expect just that: delicious Middle Eastern street food, served with a smile. They make great pitas and burgers, and are known to serve some of the lightest falafel in town. Popular choices on the menu include the falafel and shawarma plates, which both come with chopped salad, cabbage, hummus, tahini sauce, pickles and zhoug sauce. If, however, you have some time to spend here and someone to share your meal with, it’s worth building your own meze feast – with options such as beef and lamb koftas, home-made labneh, dolmades, a pickle plate and crispy aubergine … Wash it down with a glass of limonana (home-made lemonade with mint) and count yourself lucky. It’s a popular spot for happy hour (celebrated from 4–7pm daily) and has become known for its weekly backgammon nights and other events. Nish Nush is proof that big things can come from tiny spaces.
