Billed as the East Rand’s best-kept secret, this charming café aims to put the “extra” in “extraordinary”, as stated on its website. It keeps people returning for its flavour-packed food borne from years of experimental fun in the kitchen. It’s the ideal spot for breakfast, brunch, lunch or an afternoon coffee-and-cake catch-up. The menu is extensive, with breakfasts such as masala eggs (spicy scrambled eggs, spicy potato, sausages and puff paratha) earning rave reviews, as well as shakshuka, Turkish eggs, Nutella scrolls and sweet and salty French toast also coming highly recommended. There are also toasties (try the toasted steak), pizzas, sandwiches, burgers, bruschettas, salads, pasta, chicken and more. To drink, expect smoothies, juices, and mocktails. The cakes are legendary and include the likes of a cheesecake that’s “to die for”, brownies and pancakes. It’s guaranteed fun for the whole family!

Don't leave without trying:
