A family-run Italian restaurant with excellent service and outstanding food.
If you’re in the mood for a taste of Italy in Cape Town’s northern suburbs, Zibaldone is the spot for you. It’s very old-school Italian, with all the favourites on the menu, from Caprese salad and beef carpaccio for starters, to a wide variety of home-made pastas, meaty mains (including fabulous veal dishes) and of course, home-made pizza. The Zibaldone pizza with mushrooms, Italian-style pork sausage and Parmigiano is a standout. Be sure to have a look at the seasonal section of the menu for special treats. As with many family-run Italian eateries on local shores, there will be some imported Italian wines, but otherwise the wine list offers a great range of well-priced wines with a hyper-local focus. Service is very warm and responsive (in fact, many regulars note that they’re treated like part of the family), and the restaurant has a great vibe, especially during dinner time.
