Cape Town’s cool kids love this vibey lunch and dinner spot on trendy Kloof Street, but that doesn’t mean it’s not for everyone. Described as serving the type of food chefs like to eat when they’re eating out, the menu is Middle Eastern/eastern Mediterranean inspired with hummus, tahini and pitas taking centre stage on many dishes, with many vegetarian options on offer, too. Choose between cauliflower, beef or lamb pitas, as well as chicken in skewer form or as a prego, plus yellowtail toast, whole grilled fish and mussels, to name just a few. Whole fire-grilled cauliflower and aubergine, plus flatbreads with punchy toppings and sides of roast potatoes and the famous acid salad round out the offering. There’s also an “Everything” option (literally everything on the menu) if you’re feeding a crowd. Great cocktails are on offer, with the paloma coming highly recommended, and there are also beers and wine. You’ll often find DJs spinning the decks, adding to the party atmosphere.

Don't leave without trying:
The mussels, acid salad or whole fish.
