Zuney Wagyu Burgers

Zuney is one of those spots where the focus is on doing one thing and doing it well, in this case, delivering the perfect burger every time. With a great source of Wagyu beef from the Zuney farms in the Eastern Cape, the building blocks are already in place. Add to that a very compact menu, good condiments and the perfect brioche bun, and it’s hard to go wrong. There’s a choice of classic, cheese, “Wacon” and vegan burgers, all served with pickles, Wagyu-infused onions and their secret hot sauce. On the side, the choice is between Wagyu fries and sweet potato fries (the latter are particularly tasty). A short drinks list (some non-alcoholic options, Jack Black beers, Brooks hard seltzers and a few wines upon request) round out the offering. The small space fills up quickly, so you might have to wait a bit to snag a table, but the burgers come out at a brisk pace and hit the mark every time. Simple, flavourful food, done really well.
