This outdoor restaurant on the Cape’s West Coast is the perfect place to experience true β€œWeskus” hospitality, with food prepared and served by people who have grown up and live in the area. You’re literally sitting with your feet in the sand, so it doesn’t get more authentic than this! As you enjoy the view, fires are tended for the seafood meal of your dreams. The 10-course buffet consists of mussels, harders (mullet), fish curry, braaied snoek with sweet potatoes and roosterkoek (bread made on the fire), beef-and-bean bredie (stew) with corn on the cob, smoked angelfish, linefish and crayfish. If you have any more space after that, there are koeksisters and tea and coffee with condensed milk for dessert. Plus, there’s always farm bread with butter and home-made jam on the side. Don’t try and rush it, settle in for the afternoon and slowly work your way through the menu.

Don't leave without trying:
The creamy mussels, farm-style bread and the braaied snoek.
