Since reopening the former Ganesh Café as Ganesh in 2025, this firecracker of a spot has developed what can only be described as a cult following. Under management by the same owners as the popular Bodega ramen restaurant in Cape Town, Ganesh offers a small (but mighty) menu of Thai-style street food. Think grilled chicken wings with a red curry glaze and lime leaves, egg-fried rice with prawns and shrimp oil, and beef shortrib with holy basil, crispy egg and jasmine rice. Expect well-priced food loaded with flavour and a solid shot of spice. Service is attentive and efficient. Popular weekly music evenings have ensured that Ganesh has become known for their good vibes. Booking is a good idea, although Ganesh proudly states that they always keep three bar tables open for locals – which makes them the epitome of a true neighbourhood gem.

Don't leave without trying:
The moo ping: grilled pork belly skewers with peanuts and nam prik phao (Thai chilli paste).
