This family-run takeaway shop has been serving tasty seafood for more than 30 years and has become something of a landmark stop for those on the way to and from the Overberg. While it’s very popular with locals, it’s not unusual for road-trippers to pop in here for a quick and satisfying lunch. But this is not your regular fish-and-chippie, something to which the menu attests – apart from the standard fried hake, you can also order fried or grilled yellowtail, snoek and kingklip with your chips. Of course there’s also calamari, mussels and prawns, and if you really can’t decide, go for one of their seafood platters, which are popular with groups. It’s the kind of joint that serves pickled fish, and you can also grab some frozen seafood for dinner later. The atmosphere is low-key and relaxed, and service is fast and friendly.

Don't leave without trying:
