Osteria Cheese Bar has been described as a “concept restaurant” situated in a cheese factory, with the goal of celebrating artisanal cheese. And since it’s the brainchild of the owners of Puglia Cheese, it stands to reason that you’ll find some exceptional cheese-forward dishes on the menu. Those in the know whisper that Osteria is serving some of the best pasta and pizza in the Helderberg, the former handmade and cut to order, the latter proper Neapolitan-style sourdough pizza that melts in the mouth. This being a cheese bar, there are some great cheese platters to share, and the burrata in particular is fantastic. Interesting pastas round out the offering, while the pizza menu offers the likes of the Diavoletto with spicy salami, red onions, fior di latte and ‘nduja. It can get very busy in peak season so booking in advance is a good idea.
