Steak by Reel and Rusted
This grill room is known for its fabulous steak and relaxed vibe.
This eatery, affectionately known as “the world’s smallest grill room”, opened in 2025 in Mossel Bay and caused quite a stir, to the extent that it had to look for new premises to satisfy popular demand. It moved to George and can now be found at The Fat Fish. Although it became known for its signature New Orleans steak sandwich (tender, thinly sliced beef on a brioche bun with caramelised onion, fresh rocket and jalapeno mayo), the menu has grown to include “plank steak” (flame-grilled sirloin, sliced and served with cowboy butter), beef fillet and beef rib on the bone. A few sides, such as rustic wedges, crispy onions and a side salad (“if you must”) round out the offering, and a full bar will get your drinks order sorted. The atmosphere is rustic, relaxed and convivial, and there’s a play area to keep the kids entertained.
