The Beach House
Expect excellent seafood at this stylish West Coast venue.
Some restaurants just fill a natural gap in their area and The Beach House in Yzerfontein fits perfectly into this category. As it turns out, there was room for a thoughtful, slightly more upscale seafood restaurant on the lower West Coast! The focus falls firmly on the area – the plates brim with locally foraged herbs, fresh seafood and line-caught fish cooked on the fire. The menu is not massive but there’s something for everyone, even if seafood is not your jam: the carnivores can dig into a stud burger, while a couple of salads and a main course of chargrilled cauliflower will take care of vegetarians. As for the seafood, you can’t go wrong, whether you order the West Coast mussel pot or seafood pomodoro. The wine list is nicely curated alongside the food and well-priced, too. Friendly service and a great location and views make this a must-visit for your next West Coast trip.
