Situated at the old Gillitts Post Office, and fairly unassuming from the exterior, 3603 Café & Bistro is a charming dining experience in the Upper Highway area. It’s owned and run by brother-and-sister team Lara and Brett Gentles, formerly of the popular Parc restaurant in Glenwood. The pair swapped fine dining for something a little closer to their roots: slow food, locally sourced ingredients, and a space where kids are just as welcome as their parents. The menu changes often, shaped by seasonality and whatever is freshest from local suppliers – including produce grown on their nearby home farm, Rose Cottage, which overlooks Everton Gorge. That connection to place is felt in every dish: vibrant, carefully considered and never overwrought. Keep an eye on their social media for set menus and wine-pairing nights.

Don't leave without trying:
The “Chicken The Works” open-face sandwich (garlic-and-rosemary marinated chicken breast, Cheddar cheese, basil pesto, tomato, iceberg lettuce, garlic aïoli and onion marmalade). Or, if you’re treating yourself to dinner, anything recommended by the efficient, friendly front-of-house staff.
