Aperitif
A stylish wine and cocktail bar serving flavour-packed sandos.
This stylish yet relaxed wine and cocktail bar located on Cape Town’s trendy Bree Street is the perfect spot to gather after work for a quick drink and snack, or for a longer catch-up with a group of friends. There’s an extensive drinks menu that covers all the classic cocktails – the negroni, old-fashioned, martini and Bellini, and more – as well as the “Unici” list, Aperitif’s unique take on the classics. Think a cacao nib negroni garnished with an orange slice dipped in chocolate, and various takes on the margarita, including the golden pineapple (turmeric-infused tequila, pineapple purée, fresh lime and black pepper) and royal margarita (tequila, triple sec, strawberry puree and lime, topped with MCC). There’s also a good non-alcoholic selection, as well as red and white wines, beers and soft drinks. The “sandos”, or pizza foldovers, have a cult following, with fans praising the freshly baked, 72-hour fermented dough, filled with the likes of oven-roasted spicy aubergine, truffle cream and fresh tomato, and Cremezola, chorizo, hot honey and fresh tomato.
Don't leave without trying:
The steak sando – Frankie Fenner rump steak cooked in garlic, butter and thyme, served with roasted cherry tomatoes, rocket, Parmesan, home-made aïoli and chimichurri. The Como sando – mortadella, pistachio cream, filone mozzarella and chopped pistachios.
