You’ll find this cool, inner-city ramen bar in a heritage building above Honest Chocolate and The Gin Bar – head through Honest Chocolate, past the bar, and up the stairs to find comforting bowls of ramen and other Asian-inspired plates. The space is decorated with quirky vintage finds and art, with chalkboard menus listing what’s on offer – it’s a perfect space for a bite before or after you’ve sampled the gin downstairs. The ramen is the main event here, with options including miso pork, braised beef shortrib with kimchi, Szechuan hot-pot pork, and shiitake mushroom and braised tofu. The bowls are built around a flavourful broth and satisfyingly chewy noodles, and all are served with a traditional Japanese soft-boiled ajitama egg marinated in soy sauce and mirin. Other must-try dishes include the burnt cabbage with peanuts, nori and Kewpie mayonnaise (trust us, you’ve never tasted this humble vegetable like this before), the Korean fried cauliflower and charred broccoli with black vinegar, crispy onions and sesame seeds. There’s usually a dessert on offer too, if you’re lucky it might be a burnt Basque cheesecake.

Don't leave without trying:
