Just below the saddle of Constantia Nek, Constantia Glen looks out across one of Cape Town's most beloved tapestries: vineyards, mountain peaks and the Constantia Valley stretching below. The estate produces award-winning, cool-climate wines, including multiple Platter's Guide five-star winners, and its dining menu proves a worthy companion to them. Choose a table right within the tasting room or on the terrace, then tuck into cheese and charcuterie platters or wood-fired flammküchen to share. The mains menu is succinct but diverse enough to suit any season or appetite: think rindsgulasch (a traditional Austrian goulash) or a slow-roasted lamb shank with bone-marrow mashed potato in winter, or the light-as-air potato rösti served with oak-smoked trout ribbons and crème fraîche for warmer days. This is Constantia at its most unhurried and beautiful.

Don't leave without trying:
The lamb flammküchen: a wonderfully crispy, crackly wood-fired flatbread topped with slow-roasted lamb, crème fraîche, mozzarella, roasted tomatoes, feta and rocket, with chimichurri sauce.
