East Head Café
A friendly café with spectacular views of the Knysna Heads.
You can hardly get better views than this: Knysna’s East Head soars above and the sea crashes on the rocks just below this local landmark. The café serves breakfast and lunch but be warned, you’ll need to get there early or join the queue waiting for a table inside, or on the deck under the milkwood trees. Breakfasts range from apple crumble oats, granola and smoothie bowls to French toast, eggs Benedict and everything in between. There are plenty of options for lunch, from seafood – mussels, prawns calamari, seafood curry – to steaks and burgers, including beef, chicken and fish options. For those looking for something light, salads including butternut-and-blue cheese and avocado ritz-and-prawn will appeal, as will as poké bowls of smoked salmon, pepper-crusted tuna and prawns. Desserts of waffles, cheesecake, lemon meringue and a freshly baked cake will tempt you into lingering a little longer to admire that view.
Don't leave without trying:
The eggs Benedict and an excellent coffee.
