Eleven
Local produce is the hero in globally inspired dishes at this contemporary restaurant.
Named for its address on Franschhoek’s historic main street, Eleven serves contemporary global cuisine in an industrial-style space decorated with wood, exposed brick and gleaming copper. Chef Ryan Shell derives inspiration from his extensive travels, incorporating flavours from around the world unrestricted by any singular tradition. There are both à la carte and tasting menus on offer, which hero local produce and change often to reflect availability and the seasons, and the restaurant also has its own vegetable and herb garden. It also takes pride in developing local talent within its community, nurturing people’s growth and personal development. On the à la carte menu, dishes including Babylonstoren beef fillet with pommes purée, locally sourced Three Streams trout, and wild mushroom dumplings will satisfy those looking for an elevated lunch or dinner, while the seven-course tasting menu offers a curated selection of the chef’s favourites, perfect for a lingering Sunday lunch or elegant dinner date.
