For well-made seafood in a stunning seaside location, with the waves breaking on the rocks below the terrace, you could hardly ask for more. Although it’s become a popular destination for tourists looking for fresh seafood in a stylish setting, Harbour House offers a warm welcome to locals and is the perfect spot for a lazy Sunday lunch with the family. Apart from expected dishes such as mussels, prawns, calamari and linefish, there’s a nice offering of local oysters with interesting dressings. Also worth noting is the choose-your-own-fish pairing, where you pick your linefish to go with a parsley risotto or, for example, into a spicy laksa. The chef’s pairings (for instance the signature dish of oven-roasted seabass) are worth a closer look. Bookings are recommended, especially on sunny weekends when what feels like the whole of the Western Cape flocks to the peninsula. Service remains friendly and efficient even when it’s busy.
