Ice Dream Land
A true hidden gem serving authentic (and excellent) Italian fare.
Tucked away in the farmlands of Plettenberg Bay, it could be easy to miss Ice Dream Land but for anyone on the hunt for authentic and welcoming Italian dining, this is heaven. Locals wax lyrical about the traditional wood-fired pizza, hand-rolled and topped with the farm’s own home-made mozzarella. (In fact, they make their own mozzarella, burrata, ricotta and other aged cheeses on the farm!) The food here is made with love, with the best ingredients and is meant for sharing. Whether you go for a simple order of bruschetta, an Italian platter to share or a variety of thin, crispy pizzas for the table, there’s no wrong choice here. Be sure to leave room for a scoop (or three) of the home-made gelato, and we’re hearing very good things about the house tiramisu. The adjacent Forest Bar serves coffee and croissants and – make a mental note for silly season – all-day aperitivi!
