Hidden away in the Devonbosch residential development in Stellenbosch and part of the Super Sconto Italian retail group, Ischia Restaurant has become a firm favourite for its quality Italian fare, delivered in an elegant but relaxed setting. The menu is not massive (always a good sign in an Italian restaurant), and is expertly put together. Expect well-made pastas and excellent pizzas. Standouts on the pasta menu include a version with prawns, tomato and cream, and on the pizza side of things, the prosciutto pizza with Parma ham, balsamic glaze and fresh rocket gets rave reviews. Fancy enough for a date night yet relaxed enough for a family dinner, Ischia is also known for its friendly and attentive service. Be sure to pop into the Super Sconto deli for some take-home items including sliced meats, artisanal cheese, pastas and other imported Italian specialties.
