Tokara Delicatessen
A deli favoured for good breakfasts, gorgeous views and child-friendly vibes.
It’s not hard to see why the deli at Tokara is a firm favourite with Boland crowds; good food, friendly service and a great location combine to create the perfect breakfast or lunch spot. The brekkie offering is interesting and playful – indulge in mosbolletjie French toast with banana and peanut butter cremeux, or a “Goeiemôre” breakfast pizza with bacon, mozzarella, scrambled eggs and rocket. For lunch, you’ll find all-rounders such as pizzas and burgers, but you can also look forward to interesting options including a goat’s-cheese crème brûlée with a stone fruit salad, or a sweet potato meze bowl with charred artichoke, baba ganoush, spiced chickpeas and a dukkah crumble. The venue is stylish but not snooty, and it’s quite common to see life celebrations (birthdays, baby showers) playing out here. The wine list is limited to Tokara’s own bottles, but seeing as the estate really knows their way around a wine barrel, this is no hardship. It’s a very family-friendly setup, with a solid kids’ menu and a rather remarkable play area to keep the young ones happy and occupied.
