Kleinsky’s Delicatessen Sea Point

Kleinsky’s first opened in Sea Point in a much smaller space across the road from its current location and soon became the go-to for New York-style boiled bagels, schmears, breakfasts and other deli-style classics. It’s since expanded and has another store in Constantia, two in Joburg and one in London. The Sea Point store is always buzzing, with devotees often queuing to enjoy one of their legendary bagels with fillings including the Bada-Bing (beef salami, rocket, mozzarella, lemon, Dijon vinaigrette), the pizza bagel (tomato base, mozzarella, basil) and the classic smoked salmon and cream cheese, among many others. Other breakfasts worth the wait include the latke Benedict, apple crumble French toast and the brunch bun. The baked cheesecake is legendary (you can buy it by the slice to take home) and the sandwiches, burgers and hot dogs also get rave reviews. The coffee is strong, the orange juice is freshly squeezed, and the vibes are top notch.
