La Lampara Italian Restaurant

This might seem like a surprising location for an Italian restaurant, but La Lampara has built up a solid reputation for serving authentic Italian food in a rustic, farm atmosphere. They’re only open from Thursday to Saturday for lunch and dinner, and on Sundays for lunch, so time your visit well. The restaurant is located inside a restored dairy, and surrounded by tranquil gardens, making a meal here feel like a break from the real world. Husband-and-wife team Pino and Caroline offer a seasonal menu that changes weekly, but their wood-fired pizzas are always available. There are always a few pastas on offer, which might include the likes of pappardelle with lamb ragù, prawns with spaghetti, or pici with porcini mushrooms, in season. Mains such as crispy pork belly, oxtail, lamb shank or seared tuna will tempt, as will panna cotta, chocolate fondant or tiramisu for dessert.
