A true hidden gem, Riva offers a standout experience. Diners can look forward to a top-quality menu that is highly seafood-driven, brimming with freshness. Opened by two childhood friends from Italy, the restaurant trades in simple and authentic Italian flavours. Fittingly, the decor is equally unpretentious – simple wooden tables and chairs make it feel like a little trattoria in Italy. The menu is not vast and might include items such as a well-made tuna tartare or saffron pasta with prawns, stracciatella cheese and crumbled pistachio. The quality of the fish is excellent; the pasta is home-made and expertly cooked. It’s not a bad idea to leave room for dessert, the tiramisu or panna cotta are definitely worth it. The owners are very hands-on and hospitable and diners often mention the warm and kind welcome they receive. Their approach has been described as no frills, no fuss, just pure generosity.
